Like many of the country’s flea markets, Keller’s is an eclectic mixture of stalls selling everything from fresh produce and home goods to weaponry and post- apocolypse supplies. The stories of the vendors themselves are just as varied. Some have lost their brick-and-mortar stores due to the financial crisis and have no other option for liquidating their merchandise, while others are just starting and have found the market’s low fees and high traffic an ideal location to begin a shop. Some have migrated from Mexico, started farms and opened stalls to sell their produce, while others have immigrated with other dreams only to fall back on selling cheap exports from their homeland to barely make a living.
This series is an attempt to capture the eclectic and eccentric mix of both people and products found in an American flea market.
